What we are asked most often
The answers below restate exactly the positions set out in our terms and conditions of sale. In case of doubt, the terms prevail.
Buying & payment
How does payment work?
Each watch has its own secure Shopify payment link. You pay by card on the Shopify checkout page; we never see your card details. Bank transfer is possible for larger amounts, on request.
Are the prices shown inclusive of tax?
Yes. Prices include all taxes and fall under the margin VAT scheme that applies to second-hand goods: VAT therefore does not appear separately on the invoice and is not recoverable.
Can I negotiate the price?
The price is agreed with the consignor before the watch goes online, so it is not freely negotiable. If a watch stays in the collection for a long time the price may be revised — write to us and we will tell you where the piece you are interested in stands.
Can I reserve a watch?
Yes, by email, while you finalise your decision. A reservation is held for a few days; it only becomes firm on payment.
Shipping & returns
How soon does the watch ship?
Within 48 working hours of payment, subject to the opening hours of the vault where the watches are kept. You receive the tracking number as soon as it ships.
Is the shipment insured?
Yes, every shipment is insured for the value of the watch and delivered against signature. We ship across France and Europe.
Can I collect the watch in person?
Yes, in Paris, Lille or Brussels, by appointment. A location is in the process of opening in London.
Do I have a right of withdrawal?
Yes. For a distance purchase by a consumer, you have fourteen calendar days from delivery to withdraw, under articles L.221-18 and following of the French Consumer Code. The watch must be returned in the condition in which it was delivered, with its accessories. Return costs are yours unless stated otherwise, and the refund is made within fourteen days of the return.
Warranty & checks
What exactly do your checks cover?
Three stages, in this order, for every watch: opening and authentication (case, caseback, crown, calibre, serial numbers compared against the manufacture’s references); bench testing (rate, amplitude, power reserve, water resistance), with a service by a watchmaker if the readings fall outside tolerance; then handover with the inspection report and the exact list of accessories.
What warranty do I have after buying?
The two-year legal warranty of conformity applies, as does the legal warranty against hidden defects. You also have seven days from delivery to inspect the watch in hand and report any discrepancy with the description.
Are the watches authenticated?
Always, and it is the condition of entry: a watch whose authenticity is not established does not join the collection. Serial numbers are recorded and verified, and components compared against the manufacture’s references.
What do “full set”, “papers only” and “serviced” mean?
“Full set” means the box, the papers and the original accessories are present. “Papers only” means only the papers come with the watch. “Serviced” is followed by the date of the service carried out. We use these terms strictly: what is not stated is not supplied.
Consignment
How do I consign a watch?
Write to us with the reference and a few photographs. We reply within 48 hours with a valuation, then we set the selling price together. The commission is stated in writing before the watch goes online, never after.
Do I stay the owner during the consignment?
Yes, you remain the owner of the watch until it sells. It is insured and kept in the vault for the whole consignment.
When am I paid after the sale?
The transfer is made within seven days of the sale, once the buyer’s inspection period has elapsed.
Do you take every brand?
No. A watch is accepted if it resells: a house that holds up over time, spare parts still available, a value the market knows. The list of houses we follow is on the brands page, and it is not closed — we look case by case.
